This event resulted in the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
